What’s difference between knowing the path and walking the path? Ralf a

Many, in fact way too many people know what they should do and yet they make the choice of not doing anything. That is the difference between knowing the path and walking it. Result: A life filled with regret. Don’t just take my word for it; here is a fantastic post by Marc Chernoff on this topic (40 Regrets You Don’t Want to Have in 40 Years).

This made me think of a really dear friend of mine who lost her battle with cancer today. I am so glad that I have made a point of speaking and meeting with her as much as I could and as much as her disease would allow. My most cherished memory will be spending a day at Jefferson Hospital in Philly with her. We always had such fabulous genuine and most of all candid conversations. I shudder at the thought if I hadn’t made the effort spending time together.

How many folks did not make the effort seeing her during the time she was diagnosed until now? I just hope there are not any, or at least many people like that around. It is a cruel punishment for any of us who need to live with the knowledge that we could and should have made an effort so much sooner and at the end her life candle was snuffed out so quickly. The Sun may come up again another day, but we may not wake up again the next day.

Choose your priorities in life wisely. Some things can be postponed; all the while others must not wait. Know and walk the path in front of you and never look back.
